Writer’s frown

Why write at all? when one can think compose
and speak to touch the soul. Words are as bright
If sung or acted out on stage, offered in prose
Or turned in myriad ways, to colours painted
silently, creating image on the page.
why write at all? a thought alights then
Dissipates, voices go silent in the night
